Description:

The Global Village Plaza, constructed in 2010, was built with three bio-swales to manage stormwater. However, erosion caused by stormwater runoff is still a noticeable problem on its west side. We collected data (in the form of soil and water samples) to support our hypothesis that vegetation and soil could be used to collect and divert rainwater. We then submitted a design for a tiered garden at this location for the 2012 EPA Campus RainWorks Challenge.
